We’re looking for a highly motivated hands-on sales manager with specific media industry experience that can manage and build a top performing sales team within a rapidly growing company. This person will have experience leading traditional and digital sales efforts in all phases, from target account list management, through account planning, sales strategy development, and closing deals. Must be able to work cross functionally with established sales team and be a champion for all products. This person will be energized by both winning business and building teams; along with the ability to sell to companies of all sizes. A strong candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, and a desire to influence the direction of our most important new client offerings.


Coach & Mentor Sales Staff

  • Teach problem solving and idea generation to Sales Directors to better service their customers;
  • Provide creative direction, as necessary, on ideas for customers;
  • Create a repeatable process to generate consistent sales results;
  • Create a consistent approach for sales presentations and communications;
  • Part of the coaching and mentoring responsibility is calling on accounts when needed.

Manager of Sales Staff

  • Keeps order amongst staff;
  • Holds the line on company policy;
  • Provides calm with presence amongst staff and attention to needs;
  • Holds individuals and the team accountable to goals;
  • Ensures individuals are adhering to our messaging and SOPs (the Moffly Playbooks).

Relevant Experience
Personal Sales Experience required; print and digital media preferred

Desirable Experience
Financial understanding – experience with managing budgets, reading financials and using metrics.

Role Expectations

  • Work closely with the Account Executives to support business growth through servicing customers ;
  • Work closely with the Marketing Director to provide materials and proposals for account executives to drive business;
  • Build relationships with team members at all levels of the organization from assistants to C-level executives;
  • Respond quickly to customers’ needs and requests; provide outstanding levels of service;
  • Attend and assist in consumer and professional events where existing and prospective customers are present in order to generate new leads and opportunities;
  • Prospect customers through phone calls and emails to develop business;
  • Proactively communicate status of accounts to management, including but not limited to pipeline activity, forecasting, customer needs and expectations;
  • Achieve identified goals for calls and service; and
  • Work in a professional manner at all times

Experience Required – do you have the stuff?

  • 1-2 years experience in sales, or equivalent via internship or work during college
  • Digital fluency
  • Live in lower Fairfield County

Moffly Media is looking for a driven sales professional to join our team and grow our luxury categories for our magazine brands on the Gold Coast: Greenwich, Stamford, New Canaan-Darien-Rowayton, Fairfield Living, Westport-Weston-Wilton, and athome.

Duties and professional development include the following:

  • Good knowledge of the local Fairfield County market.
  • Preferred candidates live in lower Fairfield County.
  • Build and maintain advertising and sponsorship revenue for the brands by continually prospecting for new accounts, leads and sales opportunities on the phone and in person.
  • Service existing active accounts by maintaining contact with clients to ensure that we are meeting and/or exceeding their expectations.
  • Maintain a weekly call list, which includes prospects and clients contacted, scheduled meetings and likelihood of a signed contract, for review with publisher on a regular basis.
  • Use client research as a guide to prepare sales presentations, budget recommendations, and creative ideas for prospects and current clients.
  • Regularly review competitive media to identify prospects and opportunities.
  • Keep records in contact relationship database accurate and updated to support business.
  • Aggressively pursue new business by following up on leads.
  • Use event sponsorship and digital opportunities to generate revenue.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both with customers directly and with their agencies.
  • Build relationships in the community to assist the company brands reach goals.
  • Represent the company at client and company events to promote business.

  • Prior local media sales experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
